The Strength in Crowns Project

Imagine waking up, looking in the mirror, and not recognizing the person staring back at you.

For many women experiencing hair loss due to cancer, alopecia, or other medical conditions, this isn’t just about appearance, it’s about identity, confidence, and dignity.

Now imagine being given something that doesn’t just cover your head… but restores a piece of who you are.

That’s where my project comes in. “Wrapped in Strength” is a purpose-driven initiative that creates handmade headbands and headwear designed specifically for women experiencing hair loss.

But this is not just about sewing.

This is about storytelling through fabric.

Each piece is intentionally designed using soft, stretch-lined materials that are gentle on sensitive skin, stylish enough to feel beautiful, and versatile enough to reflect personal identity.

Here’s the problem:
Many headwear options available today are either too clinical, uncomfortable, or lacking style. Women experience hair loss, which can significantly impact their self-confidence, identity, and emotional well-being. Women are often forced to choose between comfort and confidence.

Wrapped in Strength solves that problem.

Through this project, I will:

  • Design and sew custom headbands and scarves
  • Partner with local organizations and hospitals in Atlanta
  • Donate pieces directly to women in need
  • Document the process through digital storytelling, capturing real stories, real impact, and real transformation

This project will include:

  • Short-form video narratives following the creation process
  • Behind-the-scenes design and sewing content
  • A final visual story that highlights the emotional and community impact

And the impact?

It’s tangible.
It’s emotional.
It’s lasting.

Because sometimes, confidence doesn’t come from grand gestures…

Sometimes, it comes from something as simple beautifully handmade.

So my ask is simple:

Support a project that blends creativity, compassion, and community and helps women not just cover their heads but reclaim their power.
