This video tells the story of a personal turning point during a solo travel experience where I confronted fear, uncertainty, and self confidence in real time. The narrative moves through moments of internal panic, reflection, and gradual grounding as I learned to exist in unfamiliar spaces without reassurance. Music, internal dialogue, and visual symbolism help show the shift from hesitation to ownership of identity, stepping into the version of myself I was still learning to believe in.

I chose this story because it represents a moment where confidence came before certainty. Rather than documenting success after the fact, the story captures the in between stage, the uncomfortable space where growth is happening but has not fully settled yet. The purpose of the project was to show that confidence is often practiced before it feels natural, making the experience both personal and relatable to anyone navigating independence, change, or self trust.

The project was created using Canva Pro. I imported recorded videos, runway clips, photos, and audio into the editor and arranged them along the timeline to match the narration and emotional pacing. I layered multiple clips at once, used double portraits and thought bubbles to visualize internal dialogue, and adjusted backgrounds so vertical (9:16) footage fit properly within the 16:9 video frame. I recorded and re recorded narration and humming audio, shortened clips, removed unnecessary sections, and balanced sound levels for clarity. Background music was added to support tone, and transitions and effects were adjusted to reflect emotional shifts, slower and reflective at the beginning, then more grounded and stable toward the ending. The goal was to combine writing, sound, and visual composition so the audience experiences the emotional progression rather than just hearing it described.

Your internal monologue was so powerful. The way you use music to shape your narration was inspired and powerful. -Keenan

Great energy! The visuals did such a good job of telling the story, and I loved the moment towards the end where the video speeds back through all the preceding images. Had a natural-feeling wrap-up and was very fun to watch! -Ally

The illustrations at the beginning really told the story of anxiety and self doubt and helped set the stage for your struggle. The transition to confidence and overcoming was all the more satisfying knowing your personal struggle. – Brett

The visual is poppin’. I enjoyed the fast pace, the graphics and their transparency, and the soundtrack. I especially loved how you showed a change in thought by reversing the video to rewind your thoughts. – Ted
